My hobbies include Ballet, freestyle dancing and singing. I enjoy watching dance shows and contemporary theatre. I like going out for meals with my boyfriend, and spending time with friends, listening to good, uplifting music.
I have always been an active person, starting ballet and tap at the age of three. I continued dancing and went on to study Contemporary dance and theatre at The University Of Central Lancashire. I have always enjoyed being fit and feeling strong and flexible. In my final year at University I asked my tutor what I could do to improve my level of dance. She advised me to do some resistance work with weights. I had the technical ability and the flexibility for dance, but my upper body strength was holding me back. At the same time I met my boyfriend Jamie, he showed me how to train like a bodybuilder and taught me all about nutrition for building muscle and how to get lean. Jamie became my training partner, encouraging me from the start, he believed I had great shape and genetics for bodybuilding. At this point I was 6stone and couldn't see what he could see, but all the same I got the bodybuilding bug and have been consistent and dedicated to building muscle, and sculpting my body ever since.
In 2007 I already knew I wanted to do a competition but had backed out of one earlier that year. I then got the confidence to do my first competition in Aug 2007 which I won, and also took best posing routine. Over the next year I managed to put on 10pounds of lean muscle and did four competitions in May 2008. For the rest of the year I have been training heavy and hard, but with increased amount of rest days, this I am hoping will lead to the muscle gain I need to really make an impact on stage. Alongside all the nutrition and training I will also be concentrating on learning more dance genres to itegrate into my posing routines.
My short term goals are to return to Nabba Britain 2010 and win, at a heavier weight, with super lean condition. Long Term Goals, I would like to win my pro card and compete in America in Women's BodyBuilding by the time I'm in my early 30's. I hope to be an ambassador to Female BodyBuilding, bringing a package of femininity, intelligence, beauty, mass and great condition. After I have achieved my goals of competing, I would like to still be involved in the sport that I love, perhaps advising others how to reach their goals, with training and diet tips. I've always been interested in helping people who have eating disorders, or weight problems. I would love to use the knowledge I gain to help people improve their quality of life.
